Who we are
MapleAgent.ca is the client-records software of one real estate team in British Columbia. Questions go to hello@mapleagent.ca.
What it holds
- For the team's licensees: a name, a sign-in email address and a phone number.
- For the team's clients: what the licensee records to serve them, such as contact details, the properties and deals they are part of, notes, and the permission they gave to be emailed or texted.
It holds no social insurance numbers and sells nothing to anyone.
Where it is kept
The records are stored in Canada. Some services the app relies on, such as sign-in email and maps, may handle information outside Canada; write to us for the list.
Email we send
- Sign-in email to the team's licensees: invitations and password resets.
- Email a licensee writes to one of their own clients. It comes in the licensee's name, and replies go to the licensee.
A keeping-in-touch or promotional email goes only to someone whose permission is recorded, and each one says who sent it and how to stop. Pressing Unsubscribe in the email stops them at once. A reply asking to stop goes to the licensee, who records it. An address that bounces, or that marks an email as spam, gets no more.
Your choices
To see what is held about you, correct it, or ask for it to be removed, write to hello@mapleagent.ca. BC's Personal Information Protection Act governs how we answer.
When you ask to be removed, your licensee's brokerage removes at once what no law requires it to keep. What it must keep, such as the record of a sale, is removed when its period ends, and your address is kept only so you are never contacted again.
